Point of sale
A till your team learns in an hour
Owwel's point of sale scans barcodes with a scanner or the phone camera, shows products with photos, switches between retail and wholesale prices, and takes cash, mobile money, card, split payments or credit. Sales can be put on hold and reopened, and every sale records who made it.
How it works
Scan or tap
Scan with a barcode scanner or the phone's camera, search by name, or tap a product tile with its photo. A product that is out of stock stays off the grid unless it is scanned or searched for.
Every way customers pay
Cash, any mobile money or bank channel, card, a split across two methods, or credit against a named customer. Cash received and change can be shown when the owner turns it on.
Hold and come back
Put a sale on hold to serve the next customer, and open it again from the list of held sales when the first one returns.
Retail and wholesale in one till
Every product carries both prices. Switch the sale to wholesale and the basket reprices, with a minimum price per product that the till will not go under.
Stock added without leaving the till
When a delivery arrives mid-shift, scan it, enter the quantity and it lands on the shelf and in the sale at once.
Receipts your way
Print on a thermal receipt printer or A4, save as PDF, or reopen any receipt later by scanning its barcode.
Questions about point of sale
Does Owwel's POS work on a phone?
Yes. The till runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and on a phone the sale sits in a bar at the bottom of the screen with a checkout button.
Can I use a barcode scanner?
Yes. Any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner works, and the phone's camera can scan barcodes too.
Can staff give discounts?
Staff can discount within the limits you set. A typed price below a product's minimum is refused, and a discount that takes a sale under the minimum is flagged to the owner.
