Offline POS
Keep selling when the internet goes down
Yes, Owwel's point of sale works offline. The till keeps a copy of your products and prices on the device, keeps taking sales when the connection drops, and sends each one automatically when the internet returns. Every sale is recorded exactly once, even if it is sent twice.
How it works
The queue does not stop
When the connection drops, the till carries on: scanning, pricing, taking payment and printing receipts as normal.
Sent by itself when the connection returns
Sales made offline wait on the device and go up on their own when the internet is back, with no button to press and nothing to re-enter.
Never counted twice
Each offline sale carries its own reference, so a sale sent twice by a flaky connection is still recorded once.
Clear about what is waiting
The till shows when it is offline and how many sales are waiting to sync, and the sales list shows them until they are confirmed.
Questions about offline pos
What happens to stock while I am offline?
The till keeps selling from the stock it last saw. When the sales sync, stock is reduced on the server, and any product sold beyond what the system held is flagged for the owner to check.
How long can I sell offline?
The device keeps a working copy of the products and prices it last loaded. For long outages, connect once a day so prices and stock stay current.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Owwel installs as an app from the browser, and the offline till comes with it.
