What changed in Owwel

Owwel ships improvements every week. These are the ones that change what you can do, newest first.

  1. Excel round trip without duplicates, and categories that exist once

    • Download your stock, edit names, prices, categories and quantities in Excel, and upload it back. Every change is shown product by product before it is applied, and nothing is created twice.
    • Each product has a short code in the file, so a row still finds its product after a rename.
    • Stock checking takes counts from a CSV and can show only the products that differ.
    • A category is created once per name, whatever the spelling, and suggestions appear from the first letter typed.
    • Sign up in any country across Africa, Europe, the Americas and the Gulf, with your own dialling code and currency.
    • Statements redesigned to read like an app on a phone.

  2. The new point of sale and sales screens

    • Hold a sale to serve the next customer and open it again from the list of held sales.
    • The till opens at once from the device and a checkout bar shows the sale on a phone.
    • Sales on a phone are cards with a coloured edge for how they were paid.

  3. Reports, and Owwel as a phone app

    • Reports redesigned, with the cost of goods shown in the order profit is worked out.
    • A tab bar at the bottom of the phone, with a button to start a sale, open the till or add stock.
    • Product photos appear at once and upload in the background while you carry on.
    • Expenses and settings redesigned for phones.

  4. Faster purchasing and credit

    • Record a supplier purchase quickly from one screen.
    • A credit sale can take part of the payment there and then.
  5. Selling offline, and a floor under every price

    • The till and the sales page keep selling with no internet, and send the sales by themselves when the connection returns.
    • Each product can have a minimum price; a typed price below it is refused and a discount under it is flagged to the owner.

  6. Shareholders

    • Capital, ownership and profit distribution for partners, with distributions capped at profit made.
    • Distributed profit is recorded as withdrawn or reinvested, and reinvesting raises that partner's capital.

  7. Livestock mode

    • Livestock branches trade animals instead of products: purchases, weights, sales and invoices, with each animal's cost in every profit figure.

  8. Rapid Entry and stock checking with your team

    • Invite teammates to a stock count or Rapid Entry with a QR code; they scan and count from their own phones with no account.
    • Their counts land in your grid live.
