How to run branches in different countries and currencies

Run branches in different currencies by keeping each branch's stock and books in its own currency, never adding figures across currencies, recording every transfer between branches on both sides, giving each manager only their branch, and looking at the whole business branch by branch from one login.

Each branch in its own currency

A branch in Nairobi sells in shillings and one in Hargeisa in dollars. Converting one into the other every day at a guessed rate makes both sets of figures wrong. Keep each branch's books in the currency it actually trades in.

Never add across currencies

A total of shillings and dollars is a meaningless number. Compare branches side by side, each in its own currency, and convert only when you need one figure for a specific decision.

Transfers recorded on both sides

When stock moves from one branch to another it should leave one count and enter the other, so neither branch's stock is wrong and nothing is lost in transit.

One login for the owner, one branch for each manager

The owner needs to see every branch; a manager only theirs. Separate logins per branch make the owner switch accounts all day, and shared logins remove all accountability.

Questions

Can one Owwel account run branches in different countries?

Yes. Each branch has its own currency, chosen from any currency in Africa, Europe, the Americas or the Gulf, and the owner sees all of them from one login.

How Owwel handles this

  • Multi branch and multi currency

Run several branches, or several businesses, from one login. Each branch keeps its own books and its own currency, stock moves between branches with a record on both sides, and the owner sees all of them.

  • Owner portal

Owners sign in with their phone number and a PIN to see every branch's money, performance, reports and alerts from their phone, without the full back office.

  • Reports and statements

Profit and loss with the real cost of goods sold, revenue, expenses, cash, inventory and stock detail reports, plus an owner's report, income statement and reconciliation summary as PDF.
